While we have no doubt that Armani fanboys will flock to it in the award of Samsung’s new Armani Night Effect cell phone, in person, for our tastes formed, we think it is a mix of matte, and insipidly something candybar style handset uninventive coupled with lighting effects in what could be seen as a desperate bid to Armani Night Effect seem a little more interesting (and cool, perhaps) than it is not so obvious – but that’s just our opinion and we have never quite Stars have been issued by brash designer branding anyway.
That means that we accept, of course, that there are those who simply can not face leaving the house in the morning without pretty much everything on their person in line, and brashly, branded and for those we do not doubt that the Samsung Armani Night Effect will undoubtedly appeal regardless of the fact that the device itself could not be described as cutting or, for that matter, anything other than a run-of-the-mill candybar that the seemingly happy, almost solely on its designer Day for sales.
A Quadband GSM / HSDPA device, the Samsung Armani Night Effects comes with an AMOLED display, a 3.2 megapixel camera (without flash), 120 MB of integrated memory, an integrated music player with special controls and, apart from “Bragging” Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity also comes complete with FM tuner (exciting stuff, indeed).
While we would not dream Inferring that this is very much a case of style over substance, the undisputed highlight of the Samsung Armani Night effect would seem to be LED lights strips, around the side of the handset and also that this type says everything really. Oh, and of course there are the Emporio Armani logo on the front and rear – and sides – of the handset (how could we have missed that?).
It is interesting, not true that a mobile phone brand with one of the biggest names of the designer could be so totally, completely and clearly so very boring and lacking in any sense of creativity that the irony of the whole is difficult to escape. Even if the branding is enough for you, you’ll be glad to know that the Samsung Armani Night Effect handset is due to available in Europe sometime in November with further international roll-outs will follow shortly after. No word yet on pricing.
